Celebrating the PA Wilds
On April 27th, our team had the privilege of attending the PA Wilds 2017 Awards Dinner and Annual Banquet at the Dubois Country Club. There were exhibitors from across the 12 counties of the PA Wilds, all promoting the natural resources and heritage of the region. The theme was “Celebrating Community Character Stewardship”, and included a networking cocktail reception, delicious meal, awards ceremony and keynote speaker, Ed McMahon.
Our team attended the event to promote AmeriCorps VISTA opportunities. We networked with local organizations, explaining how VISTAs can build capacity and develop community-wide approaches to alleviating poverty. Our vision of having AmeriCorps VISTAs littered across the PA Wilds was well received, with many organizations requesting more information about how to obtain a VISTA.
