Fall Activities
Well we finally had a beautiful Saturday for Living Greener’s last bake sale at the Forster Farm Stand on Johnsonburg Road. Thanks to everyone for their support. We sold all of our baked goods and several families had a great time filling little red wagons full of pumpkins for carving and decorations. Tony D’Amore’s dog, Bella, enjoyed playing hostess to the customers and walked them up and down the rows of pumpkins, helping them with their choices. I am sure Facebook is full of pictures of children mixed in among the pumpkins.
Saturday was also the last day of the St Marys Farmers Market. Headwaters Charitable Trust’s Back to Our Roots program has been promoting community supported agriculture at the market through our Market Style CSA crop cash voucher sales. We will continue to sell the crop cash vouchers to help increase interest, attendance and sales of fresh food options at the Farmers Market and at local participating farm stands. Forster Farm has a wonderful selection of pumpkins, gourds, cornstalks and produce. So stop out and support a local farmer and get all the decorations you need to have a great Halloween and Thanksgiving.
